I made a mood board on the Proposed Brand Market Position and Competitors. This mood board is to show what Victoria's Secret's brand competitors would be after I have applied my recommendations into the brand and made the changes I wanted to. The main focus I am thinking of looking at in order to change the brand for the better is body image. Victoria's Secret portrays an awful message about body image and I have found by conducting some of my own primary research. Many people say body image is a huge issue with the brand however it doesn't stop a lot of people from buying from the brand. By including some diversity into the brand with my recommendations I believe members of the public who do actually despise the brand and don't buy from them (as there are some) will end up buying or even just being interested in the brand. The brands who I have included in the mood board as competitors are SAVAGE X FENTY, Boux Avenue, Pretty Little Thing, Missguided, Boohoo and Lane Byrant. These are brands that are competitors because they all include diversity and for that reason their businesses do extremely well as their consumers respect them.
Victoria’s Secret’s top competitors as of January 2019 are Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan New York, and all three just like Victoria’s Secret, work in the Systems Software Industry, which is a type of computer programmer that is used to run a computer’s applications. In addition, as found in some primary research that has been conducted of an Instagram Poll. There are also many other brands that are competitors of Victoria’s Secret. For example, Ann Summers, Boux Avenue, Primark and H&M. There are a large amount of competitors that consumers would lean towards rather than Victoria’s Secret because they are cheaper, better quality and have better ethics/morals and therefore customers have more respect for those brands. Even though Victoria’s Secret is a successful business, alternative brands have many features buyers worship that Victoria’s Secret do not have, resulting in a loss of sales for the company.
